SEEKING JUSTICE FOR LATE DOMINION NWOKEDI – CSAAE FIGHT AGAINST INJUSTICE

In a heart-wrenching incident on April 17, 2023, at Fire Service Junction, Owerri, 16-month-old Dominion Chisom Nwokedi lost his life in the presence of his grief-stricken parents. Struck down by a bullet from members of the National Security and Civil Defense Corps, the innocent child’s tragic fate propelled the Center for Social Awareness Advocacy and Ethics (CSAAE) into action.

CSAAE took on the challenge and filed a lawsuit against the NSCDC free of charge. In pursuit of justice,  CSAAE’s team of pro bono lawyers embarked on a mission to bring justice to the Nwokedi family and set a precedent against such atrocities.

The journey was not without hurdles as the matter was delayed due to a lack of judicial officers at the Federal High Court, Owerri.

The recent assignments of judges at the Owerri Federal High Court reignited the flames of hope as on the 27th of February,2024, CSAAE made its second appearance in court, determined to ensure that justice prevails for young Dominion.

Although the matter has been adjourned to the 21st of March, CSAAE remains unwavering in its commitment to ensure that justice prevails.

The organization’s tireless efforts are a beacon of hope for countless others who have suffered similar injustices.

In the pursuit of justice, the case of Dominion Chisom Nwokedi is not just a legal battle; it’s a testament to the resilience and determination of those who refuse to let the darkness of injustice overshadow the light of righteousness.
