POSITION: IMO GOOD GOVERNANCE MONITORS
LOCATION: 77 Mbaise Road, Owerri, Imo State.
With a firm belief in the power of youth engagement, Center for Social Awareness, Advocacy and Ethics recognizes that the future of Imo State lies in the hands of its youths. By harnessing their energy, ideas and commitment, this network seeks to create a platform where young people can actively participate in shaping the governance landscape of Imo State.
On this note, CSAAE is excited to announce our call for applications from young individuals who are deeply committed to promoting good governance delivery in Imo State. We hereby invite vibrant young persons who are passionate about good governance and civic engagement to apply to become Imo Good Governance Monitors.
One youth Monitor will be selected per Local Government Area, across the 27 Local Government Areas in Imo State. In the next three (3) years, Imo Good Governance Monitors shall work with CSAAE, our local and international partners and relevant government agencies to foster active citizen participation, encourage responsible governance and contribute to the overall socio-economic progress in the State.

Core Responsibilities:
• Actively engage and encourage fellow youths in your local government area to participate in governance processes.
• Engage in advocacy campaigns that promote responsible governance practices among elected officials, policymakers and government institutions.
• Encourage, facilitate dialogue and collaboration between communities, government agencies, and civil society organizations.
• Lobby for policy reforms that promote sustainable development, inclusivity and equitable distribution of resources.
• Take the initiative to educate and raise awareness among youths and community members about their rights, responsibilities, and the importance of good governance.
Eligibility
• Must be a Nigerian citizen.
• Must be an indigene of Imo State.
• Must be between 18-40 years old.
• Must live in Imo State.
• Must be passionate about community service, good governance delivery, civic advocacy and volunteering.
Benefits
• Imo Good Governance Monitors will be provided with a platform to actively engage in good governance advocacy within their communities, by gaining the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to effectively champion human rights causes.
• Participation in the network offers enhancement of your leadership skills, policy understanding, advocacy abilities, civic engagement capabilities and empowering you to become an effective agent of change in your community.
• Imo Good Governance Monitors (IGGM) shall benefit from an all-expense paid capacity building programmes and training on good governance monitoring and reporting.
• IGGMs shall receive financial assistance to support their work in the communities.
• Through their advocacy campaigns, the Monitors advocate for a total implementation of the State Budget.
• By monitoring and documenting good governance delivery, the Monitors hold government officials accountable. Their efforts will play an active role in shaping the governance landscape of Imo State, by creating an environment that attracts investments, promotes job creation, and enhances the well-being of Imolites.
• CSAAE will work with Monitors interested in pursuing careers in good governance delivery to land opportunities.
