CSAAE holds workshop with Directors of the Centers of Gender Studies in Imo State, on Sexual Harassment.

CSAAE organized a sexual harassment workshop for the Directors of the Centre for Gender Studies of higher institutions in Imo State, Nigeria. The aim of the workshop was to address the issue of sexual harassment in Higher Institutions in the state.

The workshop covered various topics related to sexual harassment, including understanding the concept of sexual harassment, recognizing different forms of harassment, and understanding the impact it has on victims and the overall institution as well as the need to have a unified policy on sexual harassment for all the institutions in the state.

The workshop also provided practical steps on how to handle and investigate sexual harassment complaints, as well as strategies for creating a safe and inclusive environment within higher institutions.

The workshop also emphasized the importance of developing a mechanism for regular creating of awareness and sensitization for the entire institution community about sexual harassment, as well as the need for collaboration between different stakeholders, including students, staff, and management, in order to effectively tackle the issue.

By engaging these Directors, CSAAE hopes to create a safer and more inclusive environment for students and staff in higher institutions.
