CSAAE  THROUGH ITS POULTRY VALUE CHAIN OFFICER, MR OMOTOLA OLOLADE, BRINGS TRANSFORMATIVE  CHANGE  TO BAYELSA’S POULTRY SECTOR

In a remarkable collaboration with Kingdom Obuza Agriculture Ventures and support from the PIND Foundation, CSAAE’s Poultry Value Chain Officer, Omotola Ololade, spearheaded a groundbreaking initiative in the heart of Bayelsa – the Poultry Linkage Workshop. Themed “Food Security: Poultry’s Place in Sustainable Food Supply,” the workshop aimed to tackle pivotal challenges within the poultry sector.

The workshop addressed three critical aspects:

  • Linking Farmers to Finance:

CSAAE recognized the hurdles farmers face in securing financial support due to perceived risks. To overcome this, the workshop strategically connected farmers with financial institutions willing to provide loans. This visionary step unlocks opportunities for poultry farmers to invest in their operations and expand their businesses.

  • Connecting Farmers with Buyers/Off-Takers:

Understanding the significance of market access, the workshop facilitated direct connections between poultry farmers and large buyers/off-takers. This not only ensures a stable market for the farmers but also contributes to the overall economic growth of the region.

  •  Ensuring Security through SANLAM Nigeria Insurance:

In a pivotal move, the workshop addressed the vulnerability of farmers by establishing a partnership with SANLAM Nigeria Insurance. This collaboration aims to provide comprehensive security to farmers, safeguarding their farms and investments. Now, with the assurance SANLAM brings, financial institutions are more willing to extend loan facilities to poultry farmers, mitigating the traditional hesitations surrounding agricultural lending.

This holistic approach signifies a paradigm shift in Bayelsa’s poultry landscape. CSAAE’s leadership, coupled with strategic partnerships, not only addresses immediate challenges but lays the foundation for sustainable growth, resilience, and food security in the region.
