CSAAE Hosts Groundbreaking Media Ethics Workshop for Mass Communications Students of Federal Polytechnic Nekede

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Centre for Social Awareness, Advocacy, and Ethics (CSAAE) recently held a two-day *Media Ethics Workshop* at Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, themed *”Media Ethics: Key to Effective Media Practice in Nigeria.”* The workshop made a lasting impression on participants, particularly mass communication students, who delved deep into essential topics shaping the future of journalism and media practice.

The event covered a wide range of subjects, including media ethical principles, professional etiquette, copyright laws, plagiarism, the role of AI in journalism, and social media ethics. These sessions were designed to promote critical thinking and a deep understanding of ethical media practices in an ever-evolving digital landscape.

Interactive Q&A sessions provided students with a platform to ask challenging questions, fostering engaging discussions that pushed the boundaries of conventional thinking. The exchange of ideas was vibrant, further underscoring the importance of maintaining ethical standards in media.

To make the experience even more memorable, students participated in educational games that reinforced key concepts in a fun and engaging manner, turning learning into a rewarding experience.

Armed with this newfound knowledge, the students are now better equipped to navigate the ethical challenges they will encounter in their media careers. CSAAE remains committed to its mission of fostering a responsible and ethical media landscape in Nigeria.
