The overarching goal of our advocacy program is to reduce abuse of human rights and rule of law; fight corruption and hold the government accountable for good governance and efficient delivery of public services. The Centre pursues this goal through the following advocacy initiatives:
C-Advocate Newspaper and C-Advocate TV
The aim of our media advocacy is to pressurize those responsible for upholding human rights, rule of law, good governance and anti-corruption to act. The C-Advocate Newspaper and C-Advocate Online TV track abuse of human rights and law, corrupt practices, bad governance and poor public service delivery; investigate and expose them; mobilize public support and call on those responsible for upholding them to take action.
Our media advocacy journalists rely on eyewitness stories from victims and the public. Through media campaigns and investigative reporting, this initiative prevents and fights abuse of human rights and law, corruption, bad governance and poor public service delivery. Both the C-Advocate TV and the C-Advocate Newspaper feature dedicated columns for the four advocacy focal areas namely:

The aim of this initiative is to empower young people with the knowledge to promote, protect and defend human rights and rule of law; fight against corruption and hold government accountable for good governance and efficient delivery of public services.
Through community outreaches, virtual information sessions, workshops, classroom lessons, civic education, leaders conferences and media parleys, young people learn about key issues in human rights, rule of law, anticorruption and good governance as well as how to address them.
Over 20,000 young people have participated in our advocacy education.
These are networks of young people committed to fighting for human rights, rule of law, good governance and anticorruption. They serve as community vanguards and report any form of abuse to CSAAE. They sensitize members of their communities on key human rights, rule of law, anticorruption and good governance issues. Members of the advocacy networks are empowered with knowledge and resources to enable them to engage effectively.
There are over 200 members of these networks drawn from the 95 LGAs in Southeast Nigeria.
This is a positive re-enforcement initiative aimed at encouraging people to respect human rights and rule of law, fight against corruption and work for good governance. The award is presented to young people who either by their lifestyles or actions meet the criteria for these awards.
The Awards Include:
Public policy advocacy is a priority to us because good policies and laws make respect for human rights and rule of law possible. They also aid effective public service delivery and the fight against corruption.
Our advocacy team members push for policy changes, laws and orders – at state, national and international levels – that support respect for human rights, rule of law, anticorruption and good governance while discouraging abuse.

The aim of this initiative is to design specific interventions to tackle specific human rights, rule of law, anticorruption and good governance issues. Our advocacy strategic interventions include:
This project brought together stakeholders in community policing and youth development including police chiefs, commissioners for youth, human rights agencies and religious leaders from across the five Southeast states – Imo, Abia, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi – to explore ways of ending police brutality and abuse of the rights of youths in Southeast, Nigeria.
95 youths were empowered as human rights anchors committed to fighting abuse of the right of youths in their communities. The youth anchors facilitated the release of 70 youths detained unjustly in Aba during the #EndSars protest.
This project empowered 195 youths in Southeast Nigeria to monitor the delivery of primary education and health by local governments in Southeast Nigeria.
The 195 youths visited over 1,500 primary schools and 800 primary healthcare centers to ascertain the status of these primary education and healthcare centers. They also visited 95 Local Government offices to ascertain their roles toward the delivery of quality, affordable and inclusive primary healthcare and education in their LGAs.
These youths held advocacy town hall meetings with the LGA officials to bring their attention to the dire need of sustainable solutions to the many issues discovered in the primary education and healthcare systems. The project produced a status report of primary education and healthcare delivery in the Southeast.
The report was disseminated over 2000 individuals, including government, activists, religious and traditional leaders, development organizations, and other stakeholders.
