As the clock ticks away from the decade, the Centre for Social Awareness Advocacy and Ethics (CSAAE), intensifies her efforts toward ensuring an educational system where theory hugs practice for African youths. As, a result, she organized a one day intensive Chevening Scholarship application preparatory workshop aimed at exposing the participants to hands on format, styles and application criteria in applying for the Chevening scholarship. Chevening Scholarship is an international scholarship scheme which enables students with leadership qualities from over 160 countries and territories to undertake postgraduate study or courses in universities in the United Kingdom.

The workshop was held on 12th October, 2019 at the Whelan Research Academy, Owerri, Imo state, Nigeria with 39 participants and a special appearance by Mr. John Paul Onwuasu. Mr Onwuasu is a Chevening scholar; he facilitated the preparatory workshop.

The event themed Securing Chevening Scholarship: Nuts and Bolts discussed: what to and what not to write when writing the Chevening essays, how to fill out the application forms correctly, obtaining strong references and a preparatory session dedicated to interview questions and answers.

Organized by the subsidiary of CSAAE, C-Edu is focused on helping African youth get the requisite skills and competencies to further their educational pursuit home and abroad. Staff Present were Mr. Shedrack Anuchirim, Mompreneur Coordinator and Nnamani Nwabuba C-Edu coordinator.

While commending the preparatory workshop, participants expressed their sincere gratitude and optimism that the Centre is on track to achieving its ambitious vision of making Africa a better place.
