We transform them, they transform Africa

How Kayode, Chisom, Joel and others are bringing change to Nigeria.

At the Centre for Social Awareness, Advocacy and Ethics, Inc. (CSAAEINC), youths are seen not as leaders of tomorrow, but leaders of today. Though still in college, they are challenged to work for change within their spheres of influence. That is why every youth admitted into any of CSAAEINC’s program must initiate and engage in a community development project no matter how poor or busy the youth may be. That training is paying off:

On the 1st of February, Ishola Kayode (a member of the Centre’s Network of Effective African Leaders, NEAL) withhis team of four (Ifeoma, Daniel, Segun and Joshua) launched an online enterprise Digprom.com. Digrom is into content distribution and promotion. It has brought in innovation to bridge promotion gaps while ensuring transparency using algorithms that mitigate fraud by bloggers who may want to exploit the system through fake downloads. CSAAEINC Career Building and Entrepreneurship Team will find it satisfying to learn that their teachings on discriminating competency and other business strategies, were not on solid rocks.

Chisom Ekezie

On March 3rd, another product of CSAAEINC, Chisom Ekezie published a book, “Internspire.” Internspire is an exposition for prospective interns on the ups and downs of internship. The book which is a collection of inspiring stories of interns also serves as a motivational piece. “Interns who inspire share their stories,” the author says. It is worthy of note that since her admission into ELP in 2014, Chisom has been committed to a community development project known as “Students Redirect”, a platform she and her team at CSAAEINC created to inspire youths towards creative education.

On February 14, the “No Child Drop-out Initiative” team of CSAAEINC embarked on a valentine day special outreach in Ebonyi State with the theme, ‘Our Children, Our Tomorrow’. The event which included a mentoring session with the pupils and award of gift items to some kids was quite successful as the story of its impact resounds in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. Priscilla Igwe, Godstime, Emmanuel and Paradise, all products of CSAAEINC, did a good job towards the realization of the sustainable development goals.

On March 15th, the Career Choice Team of CSAAEINC held a Career Choice event at the Government Science School Gombe. The event which was aimed at exposing high school students to some unpopular courses that pay off was well attended by students from six secondary schools in the metropolis. The Gombe State Commissioner for Education sent a representative while three university professors including Dr. Alex A. Bruce (Director of Entrepreneurship Development Studies at Gombe State University), Dr. Bulus Wayar (Department of English, Gombe State University) and Dr. Aliyu Babale (Department of Biological Science, Gombe State University) spoke at the event. The Career Choice event was organized by Joel Bauna, Ekwuonu Francisca, Oraeki Francis, Amarachi Peace and ENL Obinze Sandra, all products of CSAAEINC. These youths were themselves victims of misinformation in career matters and so have vowed not to let one more teenager make same mistake.

At CSAAEINC, we build people. We inspire them to inspire others. We transform them to transform Africa. It is good to construct bridges, build hospitals and schools, but CSAAEINC builds people who will build sustainable bridges, hospitals and schools. Rather than give youths fish, CSAAEINC teaches them not only how to fish, but also how to fry, package and make the fish available to Africans in need of food.
