Nnakwe Chris Emeka is a Sustainability & CSR Manager, who has managed his organization’s sustainability programs from end to end. Led researches and analysis used to develop corporate sustainability strategies to ensure that business practices, products, and services are environmentally friendly and compliant with government rules and regulations. He registered and managed his organizations’ (Fidelity Bank Plc) membership with global and local Sustainability organizations like UNGC, EPFI, NCF etc. all towards ensuring they play their part in achieving the Nigeria and global SDG by 2030. As a Brand conscious Professional with over 15 years’ experience in CSR & Sustainability (Nonprofit Leadership and Management), Human Resources Management, Brand & Communications and Core Banking Operations. Driven by a passion to contribute to the goals and objective of great organizations if given adequate opportunities for creativity and innovation and life impacting opportunities. Born in Enugu on 22nd December 1979, Mr. Chris completed his primary education at Market Road Primary School, Enugu after which he proceeded to Government College, Makurdi for his Senior Secondary School Education and graduated in 1996. Further to this in 1997,

he proceeded to Benue State University Makurdi for a Diploma in Law In 1999, he gained admission into the Kogi State University, Anyigba. For a Bachelors’ degree in Political science. His journey to make a difference in humanity started during his compulsory National Youth Service Commission year where he served at Government Secondary School Lubo, Yamaltu/Deba, Gombe State. Here, he was identified by UNICEF and made a state Representative for the agency. In 2005, he had a brief stint at Haniel Comm. Ltd where he worked as a Client Service Executive and Creative writer after which he went ahead to start his Banking career.

Chris Emeka Nnakwe joined the then FSB Int’l Bank now Fidelity Bank as a Funds Transfer / Clearing Officer and went on to other core Banking Operations roles such as Customer Service Officer, Cash Officer and eventually heading the Transaction Services Department. In July 2008, Chris was made a Human Resources Business Partner, South West & Midwest, South East Regions.

Fidelity Bank Plc. Here, he was in charge of management of contractor recruitment administration, including sourcing & pre-screening of candidates, managing candidate database, supporting the induction/on-boarding process and utilizing technology to improve recruitment process. He also was in charge of Facilities management the regional sites including handling logistics for the business in that region, customer services management includes overseeing all HR Services transactions and the HR help desk in his regions.

He has a master’s degree in Public Administration MPA by 2010 in the prestigious ESUT Business School and currently pursuing a Doctorate in Public Administration in the same school. Other key functions during this period were to develop, monitor and evaluate Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in line with the strategy of the HR Service Delivery Team, oversee the development and continuous update of key company information manuals and policies e.g. Employee Handbook, HR Policy Manual etc.

He also acted as the vendor relationship manager for outsourced services and periodic review of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with HR function & external vendors to ensure compliance & relevance he was accountable for the management of the medical insurance providers working closely the Retainer Hospital Managers in his regions of coverage. All these functions and more he performed to ensure the growth and development of the Bank.

His tireless and effective service to Fidelity as an HR Business partner, as well as his passion to serve and make a
difference in humanity did not go unnoticed as in January 2014, Chris was appointed the Head, CSR &
Sustainability, Fidelity Bank Plc managing the entire Fidelity Bank CSR and Sustainability.
