GOOD NEWS FOR WOMEN IN AGRICULTURE

8th March is International Women’s Day.CSAAE is a women-friendly organization. We believe that women and men are equal in dignity. We are against any form of discrimination against women. We believe that women should be free to pursue their happiness and that there should be no glass ceilings for women.

Because of the many years of systemic injustice against women, we believe that women should be given more opportunities in every sector of life to enable them catch up with men.

At CSAAE, women are in leadership positions and there is no disparity in salary scale. We also have a rich gender policy document available to the employees and the public.

Most importantly, we have a special program for women known as the “Young Mompreneurs Initiative (YOMI). This program helps women launch and grow enterprises in areas of market demand. This year, CSAAE is implementing an ambitious LINKAGE and MAINSTREAMING project for womenpreneurs in the South East to enable them increase income and avoid poverty.

We are linking them to actors in various areas but especially in poultry, maize, cassava and palm oil value chains while mainstreaming them from the informal to the formal sector.

This mega project kicks off on the 8th of March with a radio discussion on OZISA FM at 11.15am to mark the 2022 IWD. On March 30th, we shall host a linkage event in Owerri that will bring together input, finance and service providers as well as off-takers, large buyers and women cooperatives together to break the business biases in Agriculture and give Imo women farmers access to whatever they need to fly.Thereafter, the linkage and mainstreaming will continue till December 2022 expanding to other states in the South East.

If you are a female poultry, maize, cassava or palm oil farmer, come on let’s break the business bias for you and link you to opportunities.Call: +234 704 600 7185 for details.
