INTRODUCTION

The deliberate keeping of honey bees for the production of honey and other products such as beeswax, pollen, propolis and royal jelly is called apiculture. These products are all marketable, honey doesn’t get spoilt, it’s medicinal, pharmaceutical industries find it useful in drug making, soap making etc. Wax can be further processed into candles, crayons, hair creams etc. Pollen and royal jelly are good food supplements. Bee keeping seem quite a lucrative venture. It’s not so time demanding since bees forage for themselves. It offers a feasible and wholly environmentally beneficial activity that can help the developing world to work its way out of the challenges it is facing. Apiculture is making waves over the globe. It’s auspicious and deemed necessary for poverty alleviation and empowerment. It’s a venture even the busiest person can dare.

VISION/MISSION

To proffer solutions to Nigeria’s economic problems by producing quality honey and other bee related products for marketing nationwide, training youths on modern Apiculture techniques and bringing alive Nigeria’s dream of diversification of her economy via agriculture.

IBK-TECH aspires to become the largest honey production firm in Africa.

About Me:

My name is Akodi Peterson Abuche, a native of Omabo Village, Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State. I’m an undergraduate student at the Federal University of Technology Minna (FUTMinna), studying Chemical Engineering. I’m the sixth child of eight children in my family. I love travelling, reading literatures and listening to music. My flairs are writing, speaking and designs.

I joined CSAAEINC’s Emerging African Leaders Program (ELP) in December 2016, to get thoroughly trained in strategic leadership. To champion my big dream of becoming the Minister of Petroleum. It has always pricked my heart to see Nigerians suffer even amidst their vast natural resources. It’s disheartening to see this nationhood plagued with discrepancies in governance, corruption, power failure, poverty, inflation, genocidal attacks, flood and other cataclysms. I envisage a Nation where all can find support, be proud to belong and perhaps world’s most developed country by 2050.

Inspired by The Centre for social awareness advocacy and ethics incorporated (CSAAEINC), I’ve initiated a Community Development Project titled; Innovative Bee Keeping Technology [IBK-TECH]. This is the deliberate keeping of bees for the production of honey, wax, royal jelly and other bee related products. Honey doesn’t get spoilt, it’s medicinal, pharmaceutical industries find it useful in drug making, soap making etc. Wax can be further processed into candles, crayons, hair creams etc. Pollen and royal jelly are good food supplements. Bee keeping seem quite a lucrative venture. It’s not so time demanding since bees forage for themselves. It offers a feasible and wholly environmentally beneficial activity that can help Africa to work its way out of the challenges it is facing such as underdevelopment and poverty. I hope to have one of the biggest honey producing firm in Africa. An Enterprise where youths can be trained and empowered to become financially independent.

At CSAAEINC everyone must set Personal Development Goals (PDG) every six months. As an Emerging Nigerian Leader (ENL), I hope to develop my oratory skills, become proactive and more punctual before summer.

CSAAEINC has really changed my life positively, I used to be quite passive when it comes to matters involving Nation building; the organization has debunked that mindset of lethargy and carelessness. The journey to a better Africa is a collective one, every hand must be on deck.
