Project No Child Dropout Initiative

My name is Igwe Chibuzor Priscilia, I am a native of Oharugo in Ezza North local government area of Ebonyi state. I am a 400levelstudent of the department of History and International Relations, Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, Nigeria.

One of the best things that happened to me in 2014 was my admission into the Emerging Leaders Program, making me one of the Emerging Nigerian Leaders of the Centre for Social Awareness, Advocacy and Ethics Inc. The last two and half years have been a journey of self-discovery, capacity building and leadership skills acquisition. The numerous conferences have exposed me to a lot of amazing things, and on the other hand, to an awareness of the consequences of corruption and bad leadership in our dear nation.

My admission into the University in 2013 made me realize a lot of abnormalities going on in the educational system in my state. Children loiter on the streets and hawk during school hours. This became excruciatingly worrisome to me because I’ve always thought that the right to education should be a priority for all government. Why must ours be different?

My joining CSAAEINC has empowered me to fight the menace of dropouts in my state.
My community development project is tagged NO CHILD DROPOUT INITIATIVE. It is geared towards preventing dropouts in primary schools and reinstating dropouts to school. My focus is on rural areas, I feel they are lagging. My goal is to stop more children from becoming dropouts in Nigeria, reinstate dropouts to school and to enlighten communities on the importance of education.
