CSAAE UNVEILS GROUND-BREAKING ENTREPRENEURSHIP EVENT

Over the years entrepreneurship has been viewed as a mere exchange or buying and selling of goods and services. However, in recent times we have seen entrepreneurship evolve from just that to a more strategic, tactical and efficient art carried out by men and women alike. This art which is termed innovation and risk-taking for profits in businesses is perceived to be dominated by the male folk.

In Africa ,we have seen a boom in total early stage Entrepreneurship with experts saying Africa has to rely on small businesses to provide employment. We have also witnessed the continent having a high level of business discontinuance of these small and medium scale businesses. Nigeria and Zambia with 39.9% jointly top the list of countries in Africa where starting or running a business lasts for less than 3.5 years.
In recent times a few African countries have seen women pivot most of it’s entrepreneurship space, with Nigeria and Zambia having 40.7% each.

To rewrite this story, the Centre for Social Awareness, Advocacy and Ethics Inc.(CSAAE) through its Career Building and Entrepreneurship Program (CBEP) is bridging the gap of business discontinuance by providing trainings and seminars on how to start a business, what it takes to effectively run a business, as well as how to grow the business into a successful enterprise. In line with the vision of CSAAE – An Africa where all can work hard, live with dignity and feel proud to belong – CBEP is organizing a one-day Mompreneurs bootcamp for mothers between the ages of 18 and 40, who reside in Imo State and its environs.

The bootcamp will take place on the 23rd of March, 2019 at Immaculate Hotel, Ikenegbu layout by 9am.

This bootcamp will provide training on funding and investment opportunities, business and entrepreneurship opportunities amongst others.

A unique and effective component CSAAE’s Career Building and Entrepreneurship Program is the fact that CBEP provides extended mentoring, consultancy and follow up to participants to enable them start off their businesses and grow them into mega enterprises. The importance of mentorship cannot be overemphasised because it has been tested and found to accelerate growth and sustainability. This is one of the major reasons why we operate a mentor – mentee strategy at CSAAE.

We believe that through CBEP, we can help in keeping businesses alive, thereby reducing the percentage of business discontinuance in Nigeria.
