CSAAE PARTNERS WITH ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNMENT, PROMISES MORE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES

The Centre for Social Awareness, Advocacy, and Ethics, a US-based NGO recently hosted a Youth Leadership Summit at the Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka, Anambra. The colorful event which was attended by prominent political leaders and technocrats in the Anambra State government also gifted devices to students through a raffle draw it organized. Devices included a brand new laptop, a Samsung Laptop and a Samsung Phone as well as solar-powered lamps produced by an initiative under the Centre. Some of the beneficiaries included Ebiale Martha, George Peace and Abani Blessing. The Centre further committed to further developing more opportunities for youths and students in Nigeria. At the event, the Centre unveiled some of its initiatives, such as C-Job, C-Edu, C-State, YEAP, and Mom-Preneuer.

The event which was attended by prominent leaders in Anambra State such as Hon. Afam Mbanefo (the Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy, Anambra), Hon. Emmanuel C. Ezeonwu (the Senior Special Assistant at the Commission for Lands, Anambra), Hon. Obika Chidiebele (the Special Assistant to the Executive Governor Anambra State on Media & Publicity), Hon. Harrison Madubueze (Lecturer at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra) and Mr. Kanu Chidi (CEO, Smart Jobs).

Asides encouraging the youths who attended the Summit on working together to create a better Africa, Hon Afam Mbanefo also undertook to train 50 members from the Centre as part of a large scale of his administration’s effort to create a better environment supportive of the youth of Anambra State. Hon. Obika Chidiebele, the SSA to the Governor on Media & Publicity, encouraged Nigerian youths to strive to impact their environment positively, regardless of who is watching.

In appreciation, the Founder of the Centre, Reverend Father Godswill Agbagwa, a Catholic priest and a professor based in the United States, welcomed promised partnerships from the dignitaries and reemphasized his commitment to seeing to the success of the African dream for the youths. He also sponsored a post-humous Moral Leadership award for Dr. Dora Akunyili, adding that Nigerian youths should emulate the sacrificial leadership model of the late icon.
