The Event which officially kicked off on July 12th at the School Auditorium was opened with a speech by the Founder of the Centre who welcomed all Delegates and underlined his concerns about the need for a better African community inspired by the youth. The Chief Host, the University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esimone was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Admin) Prof. Carol who took the keynote speech, welcoming the Delegates warmly to Anambra State and the University.

The first part of the Summit featured different panels which discussed from different perspectives how African youths are driving change in their communities.

Prominent lead panelists such as Professor Chinyere Stella Okunna & Barrister Sam Okeke challenged the youths on more innovative ways to create community change.

The Director of the Confucius Institute, Prof. Yu Zhangbao also spoke on Sino-Nigerian relations and cooperation on education and introduced Delegates to the different means through which they could benefit from the opportunities that are available.
